MAS West Midlands
MAS-WM exists to help companies in the region improve any aspect of their manufacturing operations, processes, production or materials technologies.
The service, which was set-up by the DTI and Advantage West Midlands, has been designed to be easy to access, and most of its help is free or heavily subsidised. The aim is to provide help whatever you make – from clothing to food, machine tooling to toys – and whatever your problem.
Advantage West Midlands
Advantage West Midlands, one of eight Regional Development Agencies established by the Government in 1999, is committed to creating a dynamic business base.
This includes improving enterprise performance, modernising and diversifying the manufacturing base, providing better access to finance, increasing innovation and developing the knowledge economy.
Technology Innovation Centre
UCE Birmingham’s Technology Innovation Centre (tic) based at Millennium Point, cornerstone of Birmingham’s Eastside Learning Zone, is a UK leader in providing affordable, technological and business support to industry.
With a proven track record, tic’s expertise has already benefited many organisations, from Midlands-based SMEs to large multi-national companies, requiring expert help in providing solutions to a multitude of challenging technical, operational and strategic business issues.
The tic meets the needs of students, employees, businesses, and industry sectors to develop the knowledge and capabilities necessary for tomorrow’s challenging technological society. Cutting-edge resources and specialised knowledge structures support this provision.
Accelerate
Established in 1996 to promote automotive businesses in the West Midlands, Accelerate has grown into one of the most successful supply chain initiatives in the UK. Driven by the changing face of the industry, the programme has assisted over 1800 companies in implementing best practice manufacturing systems, securing production efficiencies and cultivating workforce development.
It has also been responsible for delivering short and long-term support for companies affected by the MG Rover and Powertrain collapse.
